Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) in Los Angeles, CA
As we age, wrinkles, fine lines and skin discoloration become more prominent. With Intense Pulse Light (IPL®), these skin imperfections, as well as freckles, broken capillaries and other issues are greatly diminished or even eliminated from the skin. Skin Deep Laser Med Spa uses IPL® on people living in Los Angeles and Pasadena, CA and the surrounding areas, who want to look younger and have a smoother complexion.
What is Intense Pulse Light (IPL®)?
Intense Pulse Light is a non-ablative laser skin rejuvenating treatment used to reduce and erase skin imperfections. It works with a wand that emits light beams to the targeted area of skin to seek out areas of redness, large pores, broken capillaries, dark spots and other issues, and significantly diminish and even remove damaged skin cells without harming the surrounding healthy tissue. At the same time, the IPL® tightens connective tissue bands deep in the layers of skin to stimulate collagen production. IPL® treatments take about 30 minutes each to perform. Depending on the skin’s condition and issues, multiple treatments may be necessary to achieve the desired look.
Benefits of IPL®
IPL® is a cosmetic treatment that treats many skin imperfections and conditions and offers the following benefits:
- Quick, in-office procedure
- Mild to no discomfort
- Quick recovery period
- Can be combined with other MedSpa treatments
Is IPL® Right for Me?
If you have an uneven skin tone, significant discoloration due to age or brown spots, sun damage or rosacea or simply want to brighten and smooth your complexion, Intense Pulse Light may be right for you.
How Does IPL® Work?
With IPL®, short pulses of broadband light are delivered into the deep layers of tissue. Because IPL® is considered non-ablative, it does not damage the epidermis (surface layers of the skin). Not only do the pulses of light eliminate skin imperfections, they also promote collagen production. The treatments last about 30 minutes and, typically, several treatments are required to achieve your aesthetic goals.
With Intense Pulse light (IPL®), the recovery is minimal depending on the extent of the area to be treated and the condition of the skin. In the first few hours following the treatment, the skin appears to be flushed looking. If brown spots or darker pigmentation is treated, the area may appear darker as the damaged tissue and discoloration rise to the surface. A huge advantage with IPL® is that the side effects that come with recovery are not nearly as noticeable. Results can be seen immediately after each treatment but the full effects are fully visible within a few months.
How Much Does IPL® Cost in Pasadena, CA?
As with any cosmetic procedure, the cost of IPL® varies depending on the condition to be treated, the extent of the area and how many treatments are necessary. IPL® is considered an elective cosmetic procedure so insurance plans typically do not provide coverage. During a consultation, we can go over the costs, as well as our payment and financing options through Prosper® Healthcare Lending to make more procedures available to more patients.
